Christine Siarka been creating mandalas for the last 8 years. She has exhibited statewide and is in art collections across the U.S. For the last 5 years she has lead groups in mandala making for centering and peacemaking in Northeast Ohio. Her mandala work has included metal sculpture, abstract color pencil images and nature photo collage as well as sand mandalas. The intention for the pieces is to create images of centering and tools for peacemaking for the viewer. Her inspiration comes from meditation, dance and the natural and personal environment. Northeast Ohio and its invigorating natural environment has been her home most of her life. Her love of nature drives her nature walks and photo taking. The earth and all the elements speak to her in unique ways. As she walks, she is called to share something of the magic and awe she sees and feels. The photos are mere glimpses of the grander universe that surrounds us all the time. Living near Lake Erie Christine has come to know it in all its seasons, power, beauty, fury, and playfulness. She says, "The lake desires to be in communion with us, in a give and take of healing as needed. It is truly a gift to this Northeast Ohio community." Christine continues, "My intention is to share its awe in hopes that the viewer will take time to go and celebrate its gift in person and care for its beaches, and the water itself, by being conscious of it as gift to us. Namaste!" Christine lives in Euclid, Ohio. She says: "Sometimes the work is only about mystery."
